I've come to realize that making documentary films is 1 part research, 1 part shooting, 2 parts editing and 3 parts re-editing; Luckily I enjoy tooling around with Final Cut Pro. Like writing, it's interesting (though somewhat tedious) to weave together small bits which become bigger bits that, when arranged in a pleasingly coherent fashion, evenually make up a final product - something I have yet to accomplish.
